Reduce Stress and Improve Health Through Body Meditation

Body Meditation: The Best Way to Reduce Stress and Improve Health.

Doctors everywhere agree: To improve health, you must reduce stress. So today, I'll share how Body Meditation is used in my psychology practice. And I'll show how it can help you, too.The Body is my greatest teacher and guiding body-based meditations is a big part of how I work. Most importantly, I take the client's lead. I follow what appears to be most needed at that moment in the room. This helps clients learn to track their own breath. Often, clients learn how to become self-aware from that first simple tool.

How self-awareness can reduce stress and improve health

In my practice, I utilize my knowledge of the body to help clients find relief from Depression and Anxiety. To start, I follow my client's breath and recognize how it inhabits the body. Emotional pain and discomfort stunts the way that we breathe. Moreover, it constricts our capacity for healing anything in our system that may be out of whack. In short, because the body never lies...

When we listen to our bodies, we can find where we are most out of balance.

The goal of any experiential exercise is to listen. From there, we can bring awareness to the place inside that is numb, feeling stuck, or wounded. Consequently, by recognizing this, we start the healing process. Tapping into the wisdom of the body in this way is a learned experience. Most of us are simply not taught this at an early age. However, as humans, it is our birthright to access this knowledge. That's why I use these experiential techniques in my practice. It helps clients access their body-wisdom naturally. Soon, they learn how to use breath-work and other body meditation on their own. And you can, too.For more insights into experiential psychology, check out my other blog posts, including How to Ease Depression Now.
